Review Agent Memory history
Agent Memories have two useful audit views: the provenance on the memory row and the application event on the invoice. Together they answer what the agent was told, who accepted the guidance, and which work used it.
Check memory provenance
- Open Agents from the left sidebar.
- Open the relevant agent and select Memories.
- Find the row or use Search memories and Filter by scope.
- Read the row's scope, updated time, and provenance line.
The list can show Created by [name], Authored by Clark · approved by [name], Seeded from ERP history, or Imported from settings. The row also tells you whether the guidance is Global or anchored to a vendor. An archived memory is no longer retrieved for new work; memories archived in the last 30 days remain reviewable on the read-only Archived tab.
Check when a memory was applied
- Open the invoice that you want to investigate.
- Select Activity in the detail rail.
- Find the memory application entry. A grouped entry can read Clark used N memories.
- Open the entry to inspect the memories and citations that supported the run.
The same invoice may show a field rationale such as From memory beside a value. Use the Activity entry and the source citation together; the rationale explains the field, while Activity provides the event history.
Memory application is recorded on the invoice that used the guidance. It does not imply that every active memory was used, and it does not turn a memory into a validation override.
Check a proposal decision
For a memory that arrived through the nightly cycle, the Tasks proposal records the reviewer action and evidence. Open the task before it is resolved when you need the full before-and-after view. After activation, the Memories row carries the approval provenance. See Approve proposed memories.
When to archive or edit
If the audit trail shows that a memory is too broad or no longer true, open its row in Memories and choose Edit or Archive memory. Keep a revised rule separate when the vendor or condition changed materially. Then watch a later invoice's Activity entry to confirm the intended guidance is being used.
Archiving cannot be undone, but it is not silent: the row stays on the Archived tab for 30 days so you can review what was removed and why. Use that tab to read the retired guidance and re-create a replacement rule by hand if one is still needed.
Activity labels, evidence detail, agent names, and available controls depend on your workspace schema, permissions, and current product surface.
