Manage company access
Use People under COMPANY to review a person's Roles & access and change the assignment for the selected company.
Who can do this
You need primary:user:update to use Change access. The action is hidden if you do not have that permission.
Before you start
The person needs an organization account linked to a company People record. See Link an employee to a Clerked user if Linked user is empty.
Change a person's access
- Use the company switcher to select the company you want to manage.
- Select Settings in the main navigation.
- Under COMPANY, select People.
- Open the person's row.
- Review the Roles & access section, then select Change access near the top of the page.
- Select the Company role.
- Select the option under the configured record label, such as Invoice access for a company that calls its records invoices.
- Select the Inbox access.
- If the role includes Insights, select the Insights access. For Restricted by dimension, select an Insights dimension and the allowed values.
- Select Save in the lower-right corner of the Change access dialog.
What each setting controls
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Company role | The actions the person can perform in this company. |
| Configured record access | Whether the person sees all company records or only assigned records. The label follows your company's schema. |
| Inbox access | Whether the person sees all company inbox items or only assigned inbox items. |
| Insights access | Whether the person sees all company metrics or metrics restricted by one configured dimension. |
These access settings are independent. For example, restricting Insights does not restrict ordinary record or inbox access.
What you should see
The saved values appear in Roles & access. The change applies only to the selected company, so the same person can have a different assignment in another company.
If something goes wrong
- If Change access is missing, ask an administrator with
primary:user:updatefor help. - If Change access is disabled, confirm that the People record has a Linked user.
- If you cannot change your own access, ask another administrator to make the change.
