Configure entity general settings

General settings control the basic configuration for a specific entity. They affect how invoices process, how reporting periods calculate, and how the entity is labeled across the platform.

Only entity Administrators can modify general settings.

Open general settings

  1. If you belong to more than one company, switch to the company you want to configure first. The company switcher is in the top-left of the page (it shows the current company's name with a small downward chevron). Click the switcher; a dropdown of companies appears; click the right one.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your avatar, then click Settings in the avatar overlay menu.
  3. In the left-hand Settings nav, under the Company tier (the bottom group), click General.
  4. The Company General settings page loads in the main content area on the right. It's organized into a Company profile section at the top, followed by Universal fallback approver and other configuration sections below.

Company name

The display name. Shows up in the company switcher, on reports, and across the platform. Update if your company name changes or you want a more descriptive label.

Currency

The default currency for invoices and reporting in this entity. Drives the symbol and formatting on monetary values.

Fiscal year start

The month your fiscal year begins. Drives how reporting periods calculate. If your fiscal year starts in July, "Q1" runs July through September.

Company ID

A unique system-generated identifier for the entity. Read-only. You may need to reference it when working with integrations or contacting support.
