Understand company People records
The People page contains the employee records used by a company for approvals, groups, and access.
Compare an employee and a user
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Employee | A company People record that can belong to groups and approval routing. |
| User | A person with a Clerked account who can sign in. |
An employee does not need a Clerked account to appear in a group or policy. To sign in and act on assigned work, the employee needs a linked user account.
Open the People page
- Use the company switcher to select the company you want to review.
- Select Settings in the main navigation.
- Under COMPANY, select People.
- Select a row to open the person's details.
The list includes Status, Role, Groups, and Linked information. A status can be Active, Pending, Inactive, or No Account.
Manage a People record
People with company:employees:manage can use Add person, edit a person's profile, and use row actions such as Archive or Restore. Clerked blocks an archive when active approval work must be resolved first.
Use the person's Roles & access section to review the linked user and company assignment. Access changes and employee linking use separate controls.
