This Blackbaud release applies to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT customers. It checks invoice coding before export, keeps inactive choices out of coding pickers, and makes export follow-up easier.
Field names, line labels, account choices, permissions, and available ERP behavior depend on your entity schema. Your workspace may use a different label for the same kind of work.
What changed
Split totals checked before export
When an invoice line uses Distribution Splits, Clerked checks that the split amounts add up to the line total before the invoice reaches Blackbaud. If they do not, the invoice shows a clear validation message in Clerked, so you can correct the split instead of waiting for an export rejection.
To review a split, open Invoices, select an invoice, and click the Items or Expenses tab in the right-side panel, depending on where the line is configured. Open the line's Distribution Splits fields and compare the split amounts with the line total. Correct the amount or coding on the line, then resolve the notice before approval or export. Review an invoice explains the detail page and notices, and Code invoice line items with GL accounts explains line-level coding.
The check runs before export. A Blackbaud-synced invoice may already show the notice when you reopen it if its split values need attention.
Inactive accounts and projects stay out of pickers
Blackbaud accounts and projects marked inactive are no longer offered as choices in invoice coding pickers. This keeps new coding tied to records that can still be used in Blackbaud.
On an invoice, open the Expenses tab and click Search GL account… or Search project… on the line you are coding. For a split-coded line, review the Project value inside Distribution Splits. Search results contain active Blackbaud records only. If the record you need is missing, reactivate it in Blackbaud and wait for the next master-data sync. Code invoice line items with GL accounts covers the account picker and dimensions.
Sort the invoice backlog by Sync Status
The invoice backlog now includes a sortable Sync Status column for Blackbaud exports. Use it to group invoices that are waiting to export, currently exporting, already synced, or failed.
Open Invoices and click the Sync Status column header to sort. Click it again to reverse the direction. If the column is not visible in your saved view, click Columns in the table toolbar and turn on Sync Status first. Search, filter, and save views covers columns and sorting on invoice lists.
Vendor names resolve in approval emails
Approval notification emails now resolve the vendor name from the matched invoice and vendor record instead of using a placeholder. No setup is required. If an email still shows an unexpected name, open the invoice and check the Vendor field against the source document before continuing the approval workflow. Review an invoice covers the vendor field and invoice detail page.
How this affects you
Blackbaud customers can correct split totals before export, choose only active accounts and projects, and find export exceptions by sorting Sync Status. Approval emails provide the matched vendor name so the invoice is easier to identify.
What to do
No release-wide setup change is required. Review a few Blackbaud invoices with split coding, confirm the Sync Status column is visible in the backlog, and use the active account and project pickers for new coding. If a needed record is absent, reactivate it in Blackbaud and wait for the next sync.
